Merle E. M. Patterson  (b) 28/07/1917 in Sydney (occupation Switch board operator at Mark Foys) and married Leopold Thomas Fitzsimons on the 29/06/1940. Leo was born 10/03/1917 (occupation Telephone Technician) in Sydney passed away on the 14/11/1996 they had nine children.

Children:

1. William Augustus (b) 28/03/1941 in Sydney (occupation Technician with AWA then Telecom) and married Janice McGukin in Sydney  on the 29/07/1967.

2. Leopold Thomas (b) 10/02/1943 (d) 01/03/1989 in Sydney (occupation - engraver) and married twice - 1st Married Josie Brandon in London 16/05/1967 no children. 2nd Marriage Veronica Charsky in Sydney 20/01/1989 no children.

3. Maureen Elizabeth (Sr Joanne Fitzsimons Order of Poor Clares - now Mother Abbess) -joined21/01/1962 (b) 19/05/1944.

4. Bernard Joseph (b) 13/11/1948 in Sydney (occupation Clerk for Telecom - joined NSW police) and married twice - 1st Married Christine Burns in Sydney 29/06/1974, they had 2 children - Gavin and Brent. 2nd Marriage Barbara Pearson in Sydney.

5. Merle Ellen (b) 01/05/1950 in Sydney (occupation Hairdresser - traveller) and married Franz (Frank) Mertens in Sydney on the 28/04/1970. They have two children - Kate and Bradley.

6. Stephen Aloysius (b) 12/07/1954 in Sydney (occupation Accountant ) and married Sandra Di Bella in Sydney on the 14/04/1970. They have three children Sarah, Nicole and Thomas

7. Michael John (b) 21/01/1956 (occupation Fitter and Turner - Engraver ).

8. Paul Francis (b) 22/04/1957 in Sydney (occupation Telecom) and married Lorraine (Bobbi) Pantano in Sydney on the 28/04/1979. They have three children - Luke, Ariane and Nicholas.

9. John Anthony (b) 25/06/1959 in Sydney (occupation Tradelink) and married Keryn White in Sydney on the 22/09/2001.
